Job Title: Manager / Sr. Manager Structural Engineer (R&D)
Location : Chennai (5 days work from office only)

The Company is a fast growing, global provider of solar tracker systems, technology, software, and
engineering services.
Job Summary: We seek an experienced Solar Tracker Structural Engineer to join our team. The
ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, specifically within the solar
industry, and will be responsible for designing, analysing, and optimizing solar tracker systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Analysis: Perform structural analysis and design of solar tracker systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning solar tracker systems.
- Optimization: Evaluate and optimize existing solar tracker designs to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Structural Engineering & Analysis
- Lead structural design and development of solar tracker systems, foundations, and steel structures
- Perform and review wind, seismic, fatigue, and load case analysis for utility-scale solar projects Develop structural calculations in compliance with ASCE, AISC, Eurocode, IS, ASTM standards Interpret and apply wind tunnel test reports and site-specific conditions
- R&D & New Product Development
- Drive concept design, prototyping, testing, and validation of new tracker and structural
solutions
- Support design verification & validation (DV&V) activities including FEA, physical testing,
and field trials
- Lead value engineering, weight optimization, and material efficiency initiatives
- Support intellectual property development (patents, design concepts)
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in structural steel design for solar tracker systems
- Deep understanding of wind engineering, fatigue, buckling, and dynamic behavior
- Hands-on experience with FEA and structural analysis tools
- Strong problem-solving, innovation mindset, and attention to detail
- Effective communication and ability to work in a global R&D environment
Qualifications:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- M.E. / M.Tech in Structural Engineering
- Experience: A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, RISA, SAP LPile,
AutoCAD), strong understanding of building codes and standards, and excellent problem
solving skills.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
