Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead assigned projects and provide technical guidance to junior mechanical engineers.
- Coordinate with global group offices to align the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Participate in Model Design Coordination Meetings.
- Produce and check complex piping plans, layouts, isometrics, sketches, and 3D models in line with project requirements, codes, and specifications.
- Interrogate the Navis model with designers and discipline leads.
- Review and check designs, drawings, vendor data, and supplier deliverables.
- Validate equipment nozzle orientation, tie-in packages, and pipe supports.
- Review Civil, Structural, Electrical & Instrumentation drawings for integration.
- Ensure accessibility and maintenance requirements of in-line piping components.
- Review engineering studies, reports, and material quantity estimates.
- Check both underground (UG) and aboveground (AG) piping isometrics.
- Communicate effectively with designers, leads, and project team members.
- Oversee deliverable checking, progress reporting, and forecasting.
- Interface with piping stress analysis group and other project specialists.
- Identify and correct design discrepancies in documentation.
- Prepare and maintain detailed checking reports and records.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and departmental practices.
- Support training and development of junior engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in plant engineering, piping, and mechanical design.
- Strong knowledge of piping design codes, standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Navisworks and 3D modeling tools.
- Experience in reviewing multidisciplinary engineering deliverables.
- Familiarity with construction and constructability practices.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Advanced certification in piping design/project management preferred.
