Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and cost targets.
- Identify and qualify local and global vendors for critical equipment and materials.
- Review technical specifications for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, rotary equipment, piping, and valves.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical compliance of vendor offers.
- Evaluate FAT protocols, QA/QC requirements, and manage vendor contracts.
- Negotiate pricing, credit terms, delivery timelines, and warranties.
- Ensure procurement compliance with Indian taxation (GST, TDS, customs) and audit requirements.
- Oversee logistics and delivery management, ensuring timely delivery and optimized freight costs.
- Develop vendor performance rating systems and maintain supplier agreements.
- Drive process optimization, digitization, and cost-saving initiatives.
Key Requirements
- 12–18 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in STP/ETP/ZLD or similar industrial projects.
- Strong domain knowledge across MEP, instrumentation, valves, and process equipment.
- Well-versed in Indian taxation, logistics, incoterms, and import/export procedures.
- Proficiency in ERP tools (SAP, Oracle) and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong leadership, vendor negotiation, and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of CBG/STP/ETP/ZLD systems and components.
- Excellent analytical, commercial, and communication abilities.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Additional academics in Supply Chain Management are preferred.
